Stallingborough is a village and settlement which has grown up along the length of Station Road. The village lies on the outskirts of Grimsby and has become popular as a residential village due to its rural location, yet proximity to local industry and the towns of Grimsby and Immingham.
There have also been a number of housing developments in recent years which have increased the size of the village supporting local facilities without detriment to the village envelope. The village also has excellent schooling facilities.

There are a number of businesses and facilities within Stallingborough, these include two convenience shops, a post office, hairdressers and a metal fabrication specialist. There is a children’s nursery and a residential home for the elderly. The local public house is well supported and the village hall is busy throughout the week.
There is a Primary School (Stallingborough C.E. Primary) within easy walking distance of the proposed development (300m) and private school and nursery on the doorstep.
The Draft School Organisation Plan 2003-2008 indicates that there is a surplus of places at all schools.
4.4 The proposal is within 1000m of a Local Centre having a General Store/Paper shop and hairdressers and 600m of a Post Office and Convenience Store. There is also the Public House within 50m of the development.
4.5 Playing fields and recreation facilities are within 500m and the village hall supporting the community within 800m.
4.6 The proposals is well related to public transport, 400m to the Railway Station and 1400m to bus services pick up point.
